My Journey: From Chronic Health Struggles to Lasting Healing
The Take Health Into Your Own Hands program was born from my personal journey—one shaped by chronic pain, emotional trauma, and a deep desire to serve.
I didn’t set out to become a teacher of holistic healing. I began as a young social entrepreneur, passionate about breaking harmful patterns in the world. But it wasn’t until I turned inward that I realized: true change begins within.
Despite being told I was in “excellent health” by doctors, I struggled silently with anxiety, daily aches and pains, digestive issues, disordered eating, and cycles of burnout. I had debilitating menstrual pain that disrupted my life and trauma symptoms from past abuse that made it hard to function—let alone thrive.
On the outside, I looked fine. On the inside, I felt helpless and hollow.
I tried the “right” things: yoga, therapy, mindfulness, nutrition plans. Some brought brief relief—but none reached the root of what I was experiencing. My nervous system stayed stuck in overdrive. I felt disconnected from my body, my power, and my purpose.
Everything changed when I discovered Ayurveda, the world’s oldest holistic healing system—and the sister science of Yoga.
Ayurveda helped me understand that real health isn’t just the absence of disease—it’s a living, breathing balance between your body, mind, emotions, and spirit. It taught me that what you eat, think, feel, and even how you move through your day can either nourish or deplete your life force.
What changed everything was discovering Ayurveda. This ancient, holistic health system not only addressed my symptoms, but it looked beyond them to uncover the true causes of my health challenges.
Ayurveda taught me that health is not just the absence of disease – it is the presence of harmony between the body, mind, and spirit. It’s about balancing the energy within your body, nourishing your digestive system, and addressing the emotional and mental stress that contribute to chronic conditions.
I began to see the profound connection between my mind and body, and I started making simple yet powerful lifestyle changes that shifted everything. My anxiety began to ease, my digestion improved, and I found myself experiencing a new level of energy and clarity. The pain that had plagued my body for years started to fade, and I began to understand my body in a way I never had before.
Instead of reaching for medications or numbing strategies, I turned inward: to nourishing foods, herbal remedies, breathwork, and inner rituals that helped me rebuild from the inside out.
This healing became the foundation for my first book, The Way of the Goddess, which now guides others through a 9-step journey of spiritual and emotional transformation. It went on to win multiple national and international awards—and more importantly, helped others feel less alone in their healing.
Along the way, I’ve been invited to share this work on platforms like Good Day New York, MindBodyGreen, Forbes, and podcasts reaching hundreds of thousands. I’ve grown a community of over 108,000 on Instagram—but even more fulfilling is knowing I get to walk alongside others, especially fellow healers, as they reclaim their wellbeing.

Today, I train in martial arts and run 5Ks—a far cry from the girl who once quit her high school team because of debilitating shin splints. I move, work, and live in ways that honor my body and energy—without pushing or punishing.

My professional background
When I first began as a social entrepreneur, my mission was born from necessity: I needed to transform my own life in a lasting, sustainable way—and I knew I wasn’t alone. The deeper I went into my healing, the clearer it became that my path wasn’t just personal. It was a sacred responsibility: to share the tools and wisdom that helped me rise from burnout, imbalance, and chronic health challenges—and to help others rise, too.
Ayurveda and holistic wellness became my foundation. They didn’t just support my physical healing—they offered a complete map for psychological, emotional, and spiritual transformation. For me, this wasn’t a wellness trend. It was a profound reorientation to wholeness. And as I rebuilt my life with these ancient tools, I knew my work would be about guiding others to do the same—from the inside out.
This is what inspired Take Health Into Your Own Hands: a practitioner-rooted program that blends ancient Ayurvedic science with real-world application—designed especially for those of us who hold space for others. Through this journey, I help fellow practitioners, therapists, coaches, and healers reconnect to the deeper intelligence of the body, and uncover the root causes beneath their clients’ (and often their own) chronic conditions.
